AVFM is looking for a second market manager.  The estimated workload would start at 5-10 hours a week, but will vary, seasonally. 

 

A manager will need to work well with people from varied backgrounds, keep detailed records, file forms with governing agencies, be able to lift and carry tents and tables for set up, follow safety protocols, work with children's programs, pass a background check, a fund-raiser, be self-starting, savvy with photo documentation and social media, able to negotiate and place newspaper and magazine ads, able to check and reply to emails regularly, responsible in filing submitted paperwork/insurance, versed in computer documents and spread sheet programs, and give weekly and monthly reports as needed, including to government agencies. All forms will be provided with instructions for completing them. 

 

As an independent contractor, most of the hours are work at home/on your own schedule, and then being at the market on Fridays including during setup/cleanup.  You will be managing volunteers as well as vendors and organizing special events and special days at the market.  A person with an eye for details, priority towards safety, and good organizational skills are essential.  You will need transportation to the market and to the post office for regular gathering of the mail.  The compensation is a flat fee, paid monthly; no benefits are included.
