POP Kids' Drawing

How many local kids are in 2020's POP Club?  Can you guess?

23                              32                              43

This week is all about cookies.  We even have a free bag of cookies to give away, courtesy of Brownie Troop #30840.  To enter to win, just bring a drawing of your favorite animal and put it in the entry jar at Entrance Two (south end).  Make sure to include your first name and a phone number so we can call you if you win.  We will draw the winning name next week, August 21, 2020, at the end of the market day.

This drawing is open to any member of the POP Club, so bring your animal drawing to the market (one entry per person per market day).  Not a member yet?  Stop by Entrance Two at the market this Friday for your free gift bag when you sign up.  It's fun, it's free, it's Fridays!

POP Kids' Recipe (for Dogs!)

Ducky Dog Cookies

This week we were inspired by two of our POP Club members who used their duck-shaped POP Club vegetable cutters (in the welcome gift bag) to make some yummy treats for their four-legged family members.  Don't worry, it's human-safe, too.

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups flour
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
2 eggs
1/4 cup water

Optional: use hot water and dissolve 1 tsp. beef or chicken bouillon granules into the water (only if these are for your pup; they will like the flavor, but you might find it weird as a human!)

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 350°.

Mix flour, peanut butter and eggs in a large bowl.

Add a little bit of water (one spoon at a time) until the mixture becomes wet enough to roll out.

Roll out your dough and cut out your favorite shapes.

Bake for about 15 minutes, less time if your treats are small or thin. Watch the first batch carefully; you will want to remove them when the bottoms start to darken.

There are many pet treat recipes online; try some others.  Some even use grated zucchini or puréed pumpkin!  Find the one your dog (or cat) likes best.  Your pet will love that you took the time to make something special for them, and they will love the added attention, too!
